On 2 November 2018, our ever-growing team of surfers Shaun Rose, Andrew Shields, Julian Flanagan and Nick Revere of our office competed in the 2018 SurfAid Corporate Cup at Duranbah Beach. The Rose Litigation Team made the semi finals.
The event is to raise funds for SurfAid which is an International charitable organisation working in the Mentawai Islands of Indonesia. It was founded by Dr. Dave Jenkins of New Zealand in 2000 after returning from a surfing trip there and witnessing the health problems the local people face.
The event raised over $500,000 in 2018 which will go towards Mother and Child Health Programmes, ensuring access to clean water & sanitation, basic healthcare and improved nutrition.
