Brodie has been practising in commercial litigation and dispute resolution since 2019 and has a particular interest and experience seeking (and resisting) urgent interlocutory injunctions in our Supreme and District Courts of Queensland, as well as in interstate Courts. To date, Brodie has successfully obtained freezing orders for property valued in excess of $2,500,000, orders for maintenance of caveats, orders for production of documents and, on behalf of defendants, has disposed of various injunction applications threatened and made by plaintiffs.

He also has experience acting in various bankruptcy and corporate insolvency disputes, building and construction disputes and general commercial litigation matters before the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of New South Wales and many other Federal and State Courts and Tribunals, including trial experience in the District Court of Queensland.

Brodie delivers practical, no-nonsense advice to his clients and is committed to carrying through with the strategies and timeframes he proposes. He also believes that his clients should be in control of their litigation and prefers to involve them in the making of decisions which affect their interests, including by providing to them timely advice on their options, and ensuring he is promptly available to discuss concerns and queries.

Brodie’s role in litigation is to assume the responsibility for his clients’ cases, easing the stress and other burdens often faced by litigants. His goal is to fiercely advance or defend their interests in order to obtain timely and commercial results so that they can get back to doing what they do best.

When not in the office, Brodie enjoys scuba diving, watching the Formula 1 and travelling to ski in Canada.
